7:53 pm - *tap* *tap* *tap*
Hello? Is this thing on? Wow, it's been 10 months since I last posted. Zinnia will be 10 months old tomorrow. I still have not had a full night's sleep. No wait, I've had two or three nights of continuous sleep. But that was months ago. Life is crazy-busy right now, alternating between hilarity, exasperation and mind-numbing tiredness. In other words, it's all good. :)

Hi everyone on my friends list!

9:53 am - Eight more days....
until the non-pregnant me is back!!!

I've been engorging on rice pudding from Costco. I never really liked rice pudding before. I guess Chubbette likes it. I'm going to have a feisty little girl if her movements are any indication of her personality.

8:37 pm - A letter to my boobs
Dear boobs,

I appreciate you guys and all, and I know you are doing this because you believe it is best. But you (especially the left one) must know that I still have about four months left in this pregnancy, and no milk is needed right now. None, nada, zip, zero, zilch. There is no baby at this time to feed. You can stop producing all that colostrum pre-milk stuff right now. I can't deal with a 3 year old plus the lumpy, tender, sore, painful boobage. Maybe you're doing this just so that I will take hot baths and massage you, which I can understand; I like hot baths and massages too. I don't want to get mastitis before I even give birth, okay?

Thanks for listening.

Yours,
Angela

10:27 pm - Happy Birthday Chubbs!
My baby is 3 years old today! I can't believe it! He's full of little gems, like "when I was one, I used to be a baby" and "I will be 3 soon...then I'll be 4, then I'll be 5, then I'll be 6, then I'll be 7, then I'll be 8, then I'll be 9 and then I'll be 10. I WILL BE ALL THE NUMBERS!!!"

We had fun today, even though it was horrifically hot outside. We went the park (after the post office and Tim Horton's), then Gymboree, then to the Dollar store for balloons and then home. Xavier was quite amused and fascinated by the helium ones. My MIL and hubby's brother came over for dinner and cake. :) Xavier opened a couple of presents (animals and books) but the rest will be at his party on Saturday. :)

Yay!

10:27 pm - Ikea is too much fun
I totally believe that I need every single home organization product made by Ikea. Yes, yes I do. (note to self: do not shop there unsupervised again; Chubbs does not count as supervision.)

I really don't like being in this state of flux with regards to the house. Some of the "office" stuff is moved out of the "guest room" and into our bedroom. I'm going to start painting Chubbs' bed soon so hopefully in a week his room will be done. Luckily we don't have to buy much furniture, maybe some cute chairs and a little table from Ikea. But boy do we have a lot of stuff. Do I really need to keep job search material from 10 years ago? Ummm...yes? I'm always afraid that if I throw something away, I will need it and not have it in the worst possible moment. Grrr. Do I need my dissection kit from 2nd year biology? (Anyone want a slightly used dissection kit?) I am pretty good at purging hubby's stuff but I can't seem to do it very well with my own. :P

9:49 pm - I *heart* my job
Today I woke up, showered, made and ate breakfast with Chubbs. We went to his science class (called Early Einsteins, for 2-4 year olds) and came home for lunch. Then he watched a bit of Finding Nemo while I did some sewing. We read storybooks for half an hour and then he had his nap. I did some linoleum block printing while he slept. When he woke up, we had a snack and went outside to blow bubbles and play with water. Then Hubby came home, I made dinner while he played with Chubbs. Then dinner, more playing, tidy up, bath and sleep (for Chubbs). A fun day; I do love my job. :D

3:58 pm - super me
I have been super cleaning organizing woman today! I'm so proud of myself. I vacuumed and washed the kitchen floors. I filed away important tax stuff and bills and receipts and entered them into my spreadsheet of analness that I keep for household budgeting. :D I'm making pork roast and gravy and potatoes and brussel sprouts for dinner. I put away my university notes and texts from my last degree (1999-2004), my old teaching and tutoring binders and texts, as well as hubby's old old engineering and math texts. Why we still have this stuff out is a mystery to me; I guess we are just packrats. :D

I have several things to do now, most importantly is to find a good preschool for Xavier. Unfortunately I think he needs to be fully toilet trained to get into the Montessori school and we're not quite there yet. Heh. We also need to get him a big boy bed; he's still in his crib (which is nice because he can't get out). I'm excited because I want to paint his new room all cute and decorate it! Wheeee!

11:41 pm - Happy Chinese New Year
Gong Hai Fat Choi! Happy New Year!

We didn't do much to celebrate today. I cooked a Chinese dinner; we called my parents. My mom has New Year's food at their house, which we will be visiting in a couple weeks. I gave Xavier his lucky money, which he took out of his red envelope ($10) and he was all excited. I told him that we could go shopping tomorrow and he could buy something, and to put the money in our bag. He wouldn't. He wanted to hold it. He wouldn't give it back. So I took it away from him and quickly exchanged the $10 bill for Canadian Tire money of the same colour.

So now my son has a lucky red envelope of Canadian Tire money which he thinks is real money.

8:46 am - It's been a long time...now I'm...coming back home...
Does anyone know the Beatles song that my title is from? :)

I keep neglecting this blog. In fact, I've been neglecting all 3...er, 4... of my blogs! Bad blogger. I just read over my last post and am proud to say we've made some headway in the toilet training department. We finally decided to buckle down and actually TRY to toilet train, as opposed to talking and wishing about it. Although Chubbs refuses to sit on the toilet, he will stand and pee in a little bottle that he plays with in the bath. So I consider that progress. We will tackle the #2's a little later, maybe in the spring when it's warmer and he's not got so many layers on.

I've been watching this really depressing yet addictive anime program on Razer lately (Razer is a 'teen' channel). It's called Basilisk: The Kouja Ninja Scrolls. I know the ending, and the entire series is really depressing (think Romeo and Juliet tragedy), but I can't stop watching. And feeling depressed afterwards.

I haven't gotten into any new fandoms; I keep rereading old LOTR stuff, and last week, the Space channel showed TTT, which made me all misty-eyed and wishing for more Tolkien movies from Peter Jackson.

I'm actually awake before the rest of my family so I'm going to get pancakes started. :) Happy Weekend!

2:55 pm - I'm tired
I can't figure out this no napping business. I mean, I don't know what to do with him. Xavier used to sleep 2 hours during the day, so I could sew or clean up or rest. Now he's awake and I feel like I have to do something. It's exhausting.

By the way, does anyone want to toilet train my son? He's really cute. I'll pay you. :D

12:02 am - Thanksgiving
I hope everyone had a nice Thanksgiving weekend. :) Luckily, I didn't have to cook, hooray! My mother in law made a bison roast and we were over at her condo yesterday. I can't say that I'm a big bison fan, but it was yummy and we had fun. Grandma has lots of old toys (that used to belong to Hubby and his siblings), so Xavier had lots of fun.

I've been so busy with pillowhead stuff lately - trying to keep the store stocked while making stuff for Christmas (cards mostly) and promoting online. I'm also having my own website designed, so that should be going live in a month or two. :) I'll keep you all posted. :)

Xavier doesn't really need a nap anymore, so I really don't have time to do anything alone during the day. Of course, I do put him in bed for 1.5 to 2 hours, luckily, he doesn't complain too much. :) I need my 'me' time. :)

4:13 pm - Happy Mother's Day!
Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there! Yay!

Yesterday Xavier gave me a card and he was all covered in crayon. I opened it this morning; it was so cute, abstract crayon art with lots of random animal stickers on it. And a gift card for Chapters/Indigo. And I also got a little tomato planting kit (b/c Xavier loves little tomatoes). Hee!

We're off to dinner at Baton Rouge tonight. Xavier is still sleeping. I'm hungry, but I'm saving my appetite. I hope everyone else is having a good day! :)

1:49 pm - blahblah rain blahblah
It's raining again. It was a nice sunny week, very very warm and now this dreariness. *siiiiigh* Nothing exciting in my life; pillowhead business is starting to pick up so I am busy. Xavier's doing well and growing and sort of talking and is still obsessed with vehicles of any kind. I can hear him kicking around in his crib (he's supposed to be napping).

I haven't done anything fannish in a while. Not really into Smallville anymore; I don't know what's going on and I haven't watch in so long. Battlestar Galactica looks great but again, I don't know what's going on. TBS showed The Fellowship of the Ring and The Two Towers last weekend, and it was nice to watch that again (yea, I have the DVDs, just lazy ;)). I do want to find some CSI:NY slash because I like the Danny/Mac dynamic. :)

9:27 pm - What's shakin'?
Wow, it's been a while. Xavier has been sick still, on and off. I've been making lots of stuff, like these really cool coffee sachets! Look!

Customizable letter and colour! If you don't drink coffee, but like the smell, then these are perfect for you! :)

Anyways, when is spring actually going to arrive? Not this fake spring, where it's warm one minute and snowing the next. REAL SPRING. *siiiiiigh*

2:57 pm - stuff...
My poor chubbs is sick; he's clingy like velcro, like a sock just out of the dryer, like duct tape...well, you get the idea. He had Cheerios and broccoli and strawberries for dinner last night. Mmmmmm. I told hubby to get one of those ear thermometers; very pricey, but it's better than an oral one (and waaaay better than a rectal one).

I started a journal for pillowhead - it's pillowhdesigns. Mostly I use it to post to craft selling communities; I wanted to keep it separate from this journal. I'll also post stuff like what I'm working on and pictures and if you want to leave comments and suggestions, you're welcome to. Yay!

I'm in a bit of a slump; I had a really good first week of business, and not so much last week. It's hard not to be depressed or discouraged, though now I know why I never went into business. :) If anyone wants me to send them business cards to spread around, let me know. :)

10:21 pm - I'm a drop out
Well, I'm a grad school drop out. Yay me. Finally got up the nerve to say, I don't want to do this anymore, and not look upon it as quitting or giving up. Now I can devote more time to my family and my business. By the way, pillowhead is doing fairly well, I think. It's hard to say. I sold 3 pillow covers from the store and had 2 custom orders. That's not bad for being in business for a little over a week, eh?

Soooo...if anyone wants a pillow, I'm your gal. Maybe I should some that say 'slash'. Would other people get it? Or just think I'm a Guns 'N' Roses fan? Heeee.

PILLOWHEAD PILLOWHEAD PILLOWHEAD!!!

I'm sending psychic messages to everyone to come to my store!!

3:30 pm - GRAND OPENING! My store is up!
Hey everyone, my online store is open! As a grand opening giveaway, I am giving a free handmade card for every pillow cover purchase. I make hand-embroidered pillow covers and greeting cards (uh, I mean, the greeting cards are not hand embroidered, they're not embroidered at all.) Anyways, please have a look, make a purchase, we can't let Xavier starve, can we?? :) :)
